  • CyFun - the CyberFundamentals Framework, Tech & Meet on 29th of April. This event is designed to provide participants with a clear understanding of foundational cybersecurity principles and practical tools. It covers core areas like risk identification, threat detection, incident response, and recovery strategies, offering hands-on exercises and actionable insights. Unlike other general cybersecurity events, this workshop emphasizes practical implementation over theory, making it ideal for professionals seeking actionable knowledge. It focuses on widely adopted frameworks like NIST CSF and CIS Controls, ensuring relevance and adaptability to real-world challenges.   • Artifhacking Intelligence, 5th of May (19-20h30), Howest Brugge, live hacking show with Belgium's most famous ethical hacker Inti De Ceukelaire
  • The Art of Cyber Deception: Outsmarting Attackers with Tactical Misdirection, 6th of May (19h-20h30), Tech & Meet with Stijn Tassenoy (Accenture) about the principles and techniques of cyber deception, from honeypots and decoy assets to advanced adversary engagement strategies.
  • NIS2 en CyFun in de Praktijk, May 8th (14-17h30) at Howest Brugge. Kurt Schoenmaekers explains the ins and outs of NIS2, the practical use of CyFun, CCB's CyberFundamentals Framework, and demonstrates an easier-to-use, multilingual and more explanatory tool for self-assessment than CCB's spreadsheets
  • On a Mission with NATO: Cyber Defence on the Frontline, 13 May (19-20u30). Did you know that Howest has been participating in an international military cyber exercise for 5 consecutive years? The event is organized by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE). This year, 6 lecturers from the Cyber Security program joined the challenge once again, working alongside an international team of experts from Latvia, Luxembourg, and Belgium. In a highly realistic scenario, they spent several days defending a sabotaged network against live, real-time cyberattacks. Register via this form.
  • Masterclass Digital Twins, 15th of May (12-17h15), The Reef (Ostend), afternoon seminar and practical workshop about the what, why and how of digital twins, with 3 use cases related to the OffshoreForSure project
  • T.R.A.C.K.: The Digital Product Passport Edition, 20th of May, WinterCircus Gent. This one-day event brings companies, decision and policy makers together with technology experts for a deep dive in this brand new European tool to drive more transparency, circularity and sustainability in all sectors, from industry and retail to technology and logistics.
  • Infrastructure as Code, Tech&Meet on 20th of May (19h-20h30, in Dutch). Tijdens deze Tech&Meet sessie duiken we het DevOps-universum in met een bijzonder actueel thema: Infrastructure as Code (IaC). We verwelkomen Jonathan Bernaerts van FlowFactor, die samen met collega Kilian Niemegeerts aanwezig zal zijn. Jonathan zal een inspirerende talk geven over hoe je met behulp van Terraform infrastructuur op een geautomatiseerde en schaalbare manier kunt beheren.
